Hip Apl Xray
Hip AP & Lateral X-ray (APL View)
Description:
A Hip AP (Anteroposterior) and Lateral X-ray provides two standard views of the hip joint, capturing the upper femur, acetabulum (hip socket), and surrounding pelvic structures. These views are commonly used to assess injuries, degenerative changes, and other abnormalities in the hip region.
Common Uses:
Detecting hip fractures or dislocations
Evaluating arthritis or joint degeneration
Assessing hip pain or limited mobility
Monitoring post-surgical or post-traumatic healing
Diagnosing conditions like avascular necrosis or developmental dysplasia
Preparation:
No special preparation is required. The patient may be asked to remove any metallic objects or clothing near the hip area.
Duration:
10–15 minutes
Radiation Level:
Low to moderate (standard for pelvic/hip imaging)
